Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) defensive back Romeo Pellum took his third official visit of the year this past weekend to Arizona State. Pellum already tripped Utah and Washington State and could take one more visit before it's decision time.
Pellum, 5-9, 150 pounds had nothing but positives to say about his time in Tempe this past weekend.
"I liked the trip a lot," Pellum said. "They have a great staff of coaches at ASU and I felt very comfortable with everyone.
"Tempe is a lot like Los Angeles and I could really relate well to a lot of the coaches like Coach Yarber because a lot of them spent time in California before so we were able to bond pretty easily.
"They have a great stadium and really nice facilities. They told me they're building a new indoor stadium that will have two full fields inside and will be the biggest one in the country.
"In comparing ASU with Washington State, it's too close to call right now and I'm not even to the point of weighing the two schools against each other. ASU is in a bigger city and Tempe has more diversity than Pullman.
"Washington State has a better weight room and I like their rec center better. Those things are that big of a deal for me though. The two main things I'm looking at right now is comfort level and where I can play sooner.
"I don't want to red-shirt, I really want to play as a true freshman. Looking at the depth charts, I know I could play earlier at Washington State so that's a plus there. As far as being more comfortable, that's pretty even, I like both staffs a lot and get a long great with everyone.
"I may take one more trip this weekend and that could be to Oregon. I'm supposed to find out tonight if they're going to offer me and if they do, I'll be visiting. If not, I'll decide between Washington State and ASU this week. Washington State is coming for a home visit Monday night and ASU will be by Tuesday night."
