Tony Carter picks Seminoles

Four-star Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin defensive back Tony Carter was one of the final elite players in the South to announce his college decision on signing day.
A member of the Rivals100 Team, Carter (5-9, 175, 4.35) told a southern regional TV audience that he is headed to Tallahassee to play for Bobby Bowden’s Florida State program.

He picked the Seminoles over Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, USC and a host of other major programs.
"I based my decision on where my heart is," he said. "... How could you say no to Bobby Bowden?"
Carter is rated the No. 2 cornerback in the nation. As a senior, he recorded approximately 40 tackles and five interceptions. He had 14 pick-offs in his last two years at Mandarin.
