Toney Baker takes two more visits

Jamestown (N.C.) Ragsdale running back Toney Baker has taken unofficial visits to two schools in his top five in recent weeks in North Carolina State and Virginia Tech. Baker had previously visited Tennessee when the Volunteers hosted Florida earlier last month.
“Both trips went great, I had a good chance to see the game atmosphere at both schools,” explained Baker. “I’m hoping to visit Virginia when they play Miami a little later on in the season.”

Baker was in Blacksburg two weeks ago to see the Wolfpack edge the Hokies 17-16 and witnessed another thriller this past weekend in Raleigh as NC State overcame a 14-0 deficit to pull out a 27-21 victory over Wake Forest in overtime.
“It’s difficult to compare all of the schools at this point, especially since I’ve yet to see all of them on gameday,” admitted Baker. “I really enjoyed the coaches at both schools and like the facilities that NC State offers.”
Baker was also impressed by the knowledgeable fan base often found in Blacksburg.
“They are a smart group of fans that know when the bring the noise when the defense is one the field,” stated Baker. “They also know when to keep it down and let the offense work. They don’t take any plays off though for the defense.”
While Baker touched base with the coaches at both schools on his visits, he didn’t have any time to interact with the players.
“I was at both schools as a spectator taking in the game,” said Baker. “I figure I’ll have a chance to get to know the players at each school on my official visits.”
Baker rushed for over 200 yards on the ground last week in a 43-6 victory over Southwest Randolph. He is up over the 1,000 yard mark for the season, and added another four touchdowns to his total in the win.
Ragsdale will take on Union Pines this coming Friday night.
