Tomczyk has perfect visit to Louisville

After the departure of Bobby Petrino, many of the official visitors who planned to visit Louisville were up in the air on taking an official visit to the program. Some of the players decided to still make the planned official including Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School offensive tackle Greg Tomczyk.
"The visit was phenomenal," he said. "I had a great trip and was very apprehensive going in. I left with all my questions answered and had a tremendous time.

"I got there Friday afternoon around four and that day was mostly devoted to meeting the new staff. All of them are great guys from the head man on down and I can tell the program is going to be just fine without Petrino. At night I went out with my host and then on Saturday I went to academic meetings, toured the campus, checked out the facilities and went to a Louisville basketball game. That was a good experience because I got to see how the fans feel about the football team since they announced them during halftime."
Tomczyk was hosted on the trip by offensive center Eric Wood.
"He was a great guy and took care of me really well," he said. "Since he's the starting center, everyone knew him and he showed me how it is there. He was very honest about everything.
"He talked about the team and discussed how they weren't satisfied. They know they won the Orange Bowl, but they are still looking for that national championship. They believe they were one call away from taking Florida's spot in that game and are very hungry to get there."
Besides the players, the two-star lineman spent a lot of time with the coaches.
"Coach Brohm is still there, but I also got to talk with Mike Cassity, coach Nord and Steve Kragthorpe," he stated. "Coach Kragthorpe is a really good guy and I was impressed by him. He's a players coach and has a terrific relationship with them already. All the players have his cell phone so if they need him anytime, they can call."
Tomczyk rated his trip to Louisville a perfect 10.
"Everything about it was great," he said. "If I had more time I would have liked to be there longer. I'm really glad I made the visit.
"Right now I'm still saying all the schools are tied up. This week I'm going to try to see if I'll take any more trips or if I can make a decision amongst the three."
If the No. 45 prep school prospect makes more visits where will he go?
"I am looking at Miami, Florida State and Wisconsin," he said. "All of them have offered me. If I go I'll be looking to just get a feel for the place to see how it is."
