Tomball athlete looks to mirror idol

Tomball, Texas athlete Bryson Janecek led his team last season as a quarterback, rushing for over 900 yards and nine touchdowns while earning a second-team, all-district selection.
What will he do for an encore? Besides making the playoffs, Janecek wants to

show his versatility as a Division I athlete.
"I think I could play defensive back, running back or receiver in college,"
he said. "I have the highest vertical jump on the team, run a 4.5 and can squat
over 450 pounds."
Since the end of the 2004 season, his physique has impressed his teammates.
"He really looks great and has put on some serious muscle," said Deron
Guidry, a senior running back headed to Abilene Christian. "He's a great athlete and
is really growing into his body."
Janecek patterns his work ethic and play after Texas A&M defensive back
Jaxson Appel.
"He plays hard, works hard and is very intense." he said. "That is what I am
striving for."
Schools taking notice to Janecek include Colorado, SMU and Baylor. Look for
his stock to rise as he participates in the Nike and Greater Houston camps.
"I really like Colorado, SMU, Rice, Air Force and Montana," he said. "I'm
really and outdoors type of person and like the mountains."
