Janecek, the Cougar quarterback who rushed for 1,000 yards as a junior, took an unofficial visit to SMU for the Ponies' spring game.
"I got to meet with the coaches and get on campus," he said. "It was a blast and I really liked the players and the coaches. I like what they are doing there."
The all-district selection will project as a defensive back or receiver. He was invited to Indiana's and Colorado's spring game, but other commitments will keep him from attending.
"I've been getting letters and interest from UTEP, Kansas, SMU, Indiana, Colorado, Louisiana Tech and Baylor," he said. "I will also go to Rice's camp this summer.
"Right now I'm preparing for the Nike Camp. I've been working on the 40-yard dash time, the shuttle and the bench press," he said. "I'll be ready."
