Tolliver breaks down early recruitment

Rayville, La., coach Bo Barton calls wide receiver Chris Tolliver one of the better wide "receivers in the state of Louisiana." Now, the standout pass-catcher is getting plenty of interest and a scholarship offer may be around the corner.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder has 76 receptions as a junior for 1,500 yards and 26 touchdowns. On statistics alone, it's obvious that he was going to see plenty of attention from schools during his recruiting process. The 2008 prospect isn't rushing things as he's been focused on basketball and getting ready for the 2007 football season.

"I've just been doing a little bit of basketball and hitting the weight room," Tolliver said. "We were in basketball until we got put out of the playoffs this last week.
"Other than that, I'm trying to sit down with my teammates and we're working on the plays."
Tolliver says that he's been getting plenty of college interest. Some of the schools that have shown him attention include LSU, North Carolina, Kentucky, Florida, Florida State, Mississippi State, and several others.
Regardless of the big interest, he isn't ready to name a favorite.
Tolliver received several invitations to junior days. His first one was just this last weekend to the LSU event.
"It was pretty good," Tolliver said about the trip. "They just showed us around the campus and showed us the facilities. We also went to the basketball game. We got to see LSU play against Florida."
The first scholarship offer hasn't come yet for Tolliver and he's unsure of any future visits.
"I really haven't put aside all the letters and information to see who's sending the most," he said. "I'm not sure where I'm going to go next."
