TN standout picking up offers in a hurry

The offers are coming and they're coming in a hurry for 6-foot-3 275-pound offensive guard Alex Bullard. The Brentwood, Tenn. native has already picked up six written offers from some heavy-hitters and will continue to be a name to look out for in the class of 2009 in the Volunteer state.

"South Carolina was my fist offer," Bullard explained. "They came back in December. I couple of weeks later, Vanderbilt offered. After Vanderbilt it was Kentucky and Duke. They both came in the same week and then UT offered me. Just this week I got an offer from Auburn and Ole Miss has verbally offered. Me."

With so many schools throwing their hat in the ring, have any stuck out to the offensive line prospect?

"All of them are exciting," he said. "Auburn was pretty unexpected at the time but it's pretty exciting to get an offer from anybody."

Bullard has a few factors that will be influential in his decision.

"First it's the academics," he said. "I want to go to a school that's strong academically that will look good on a resume. Then I want an all-around good place, if I can see myself at that place or not. Then of course, I want to win football games."

Winning football games is something that Bullard has grown accustomed to at Tennessee power Brentwood Academy. An impressive 2007 season came up just short with a State Championship game defeat, but with loads of talent coming back, the Eagles should be in good shape.

"It's always disappointing to lose at the end but we're working hard right now and we're gonna come back strong next year and make a run," he said. "I'm really confident. We have a lot of studs in our senior class."

Personally, Bullard has some specific things that he is working on in the off-season.

"I need to work on my pad level, staying low," he said. "I need to keep getting stronger but getting low and keeping my pad level down is my focus."

Bullard who grew up a fan of Tennessee and Notre Dame but insists he has no favorites says that he doesn't know what his commitment time-table will look like.

"Whenever I feel the time is right," he said. "That can be early that can be late. Whenever I feel like I found the college that fits me. I plan on going to see some spring games and then as far as summer goes I plan on going to some camps I'm not sure which ones yet though."
