Franklin County High in Frankfort, Ky., is already entering game four of the 2012 season, and star wide receiver Ryan Timmons has played up to expectations this fall. He is also mulling over where and when he should take his college visits.
"I will be sure going to an Ohio State game, a Kentucky game, an Illinois game, an Arkansas game and a Purdue game," Timmons said.
Whether those visits will be official or unofficial visits is still to be determined, but Timmons may not wait until after his season is complete to start on official visits.
"I believe the first one, if I take one, will be Illinois on the 27th of October. I may try to get an Arkansas visit in before that," Timmons said.
Timmons has received calls from Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio State and Purdue in the last week since the open contact period has begun.
"The Illinois call went well," Timmons said. "I talked to basically Illinois' whole coaching staff on the same call and get to know them better. I am trying to figure out what they are about since I haven't really looked into them much. Hopefully when I go up and visit it will help me out with that."
Contact between Timmons and Ohio State has been consistent since early summer and the three-star receiver attended two of the Buckeye's summer camps. He does not yet hold an offer from the Buckeyes, but the topic comes up in most of their conversations.
"I've been talking to them since they have been able to call me once a week. I call them about once a week too, so we talk twice a week," Timmons said. "They still have really high interest on me, they're just waiting on an opening right now to get me that scholarship."
Through Franklin County's first three games, Timmons has accounted for 10 total touchdowns with half coming via receptions and the other half via rushes.
