Timmons back from Chapel Hill

In what has turned out to be the biggest recruiting weekend of the year for North Carolina, the Tar Heels hosted a top athlete from the Sunshine state.
George Timmons, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete from Lake City (Fl.) Columbia was at UNC with several other highly touted recruits. Did the experience help the Heels out?

"Definitely, it helped them out a lot," said Timmons. "I was impressed with the academics more than anything. UNC is one of the top few public schools in the country and they talked about all the opportunities. They also talked about what it means to get a degree from UNC, and how far it can get you in life."
How highly would he rate North Carolina on his list after the visit?
"To tell you the truth, I think they're right up there at the top," he said. "I'm still looking at Georgia, Miami and a couple of others, but I think UNC will be one of the schools I choose from when it's that time."
Timmons will take official visits to Georgia (Jan. 9) and Miami (Jan. 16), both of whom have offered, before announcing his decision.
