Junior To Watch: Anthony Davis
School: Columbia (S.C.) Spring Valley

Position: Defensive End
Size and speed: Davis is 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds.
Honors: Spring Valley’s Most Improved Player
Statistics: Davis made 65 tackles, had one sack and caused two fumbles. He has a 3.3 grade point average.
Favorite schools: Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland, North Carolina State, Auburn, Penn State Georgia Tech.
Skinny: Davis is one of the more underrated defensive players in South Carolina. He was playing tight end before head coach Jimmy Noonan switched him to defense. Davis and Mack Frost now make up a feared pass rushing combination for the Vikings.
Davis is a run stopper and has a nose for the ball. He simply doesn’t give up and has the talent to only get better.
Davis talks about what type of player he is and what he wants to work on.
“I just have fun with it," he said. "I just want to bring some intensity to our team. I’ve got to get faster and I’m trying to get up to 240 pounds right now.”
Davis’ switch to defense must agree with him, because he is getting letters from college recruiters everyday. He doesn’t have a top five and he hasn't received any offers at this point. He is however looking for certain things in a University.
“I am looking at colleges with good engineering classes,” he said. “A place where I can live comfortably and where I can get a good education. I want to enjoy playing football where I can live close to family."
Clemson is recruiting him the hardest at this point. He receives a lot of mail from South Carolina and Maryland.
Davis plans to attend summer football camps at Maryland, Wake Forest, and Tennessee.
