Tigers still lead for Thomas

With a strong spring, Aldine, Texas dual-threat quarterback Darron Thomas has added more offers and interest with the end of May in sight.
Thomas, a 6-foot-4, 195-pounder, has added more offers from schools such as Miami, Minnesota, Purdue, and UTEP. Other schools that offered previously included LSU, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Rice, and Illinois. Thomas says that LSU still leads, but three other schools have piqued his interest as well.

"LSU is still my No. 1 school,' Thomas said. "Miami is up there and I'm waiting to hear about Florida and USC too. They're supposed to be close to offering, but I don't know yet."
Thomas says that almost all of the schools recriuting him like his quarterback abilities.
"It's different for a few schools," Thomas said. "Most teams already tell me that I'm good at quarterback, but schools like Oklahoma State and Rice offered me at the wide receiver position. I think Missouri likes me as a defensive back."
There are a variety of unofficial visits and camps that Thomas is planning to attend. Oklahoma State, Houston, and Texas A&M are the camps that he wants to attend that are somewhat close to home.
Thomas says he also may be taking a trip to an Elite 11 quarterback camp and a Miami camp as well.
A commitment could be at any time this fall.
"It may be during the season or at the end of the season," Thomas said. "I know it won't be early. I want to take some visits most likely."
