Tiger pledge thinking about CU, KU

Lancaster, Texas, three-star cornerback Chad Washington made waves when he committed to early back in early October. He’s made waves lately because of the talk that he might take other official visits and the way that he’s improved on the field.
First things first, Washington, who is 5-foot-11 and 192 pounds, said he’s improved his game planning significantly and that in turn has made him a better player.

“I know I have to be better prepared,” Washington said. “Last year, I kind of took that for granted and didn’t watch too much. I just went out there and didn’t study up on the other guys. I only paid attention to what I did. This year, I really worked hard and put a lot more time into becoming a better student of the game.
“I’ve also worked hard with my physical ability. I think that I’m not in the best shape that I’ve ever been in and that’s helped me become a good player, too.”
Washington, ranked as the No. 52 cornerback by Rivals.com, said he is a “soft verbal” to Missouri.
“I guess you can say I’m a soft verbal,” he said. “I’m just looking around some other schools that have come in the picture. Two schools really want me t o come take a visit, and TCU is also right there since it’s close to home. I’m just trying to set up a schedule.”
Washington said the “two” teams that have come into the picture, but really have been there since day one, are Kansas and Colorado. He knows he’ll have a tough decision in the end.
“I watched the Baylor game against Missouri down here,” he said. “I went to Waco and watched them. They’re pretty solid, but they just haven’t come through with the big win yet. They’re on their way, but they just need a little more.
“Kansas and Colorado have been showing me a lot of interest. They tell me that they build their team around defense and I know I could play early there. I like the schools, too. Colorado has won a Big 12 championship and Kansas has won a couple big games this year. TCU is also a good program right in my backyard. It’d be close to home for mom.”
