Tide still leading for R100 OT

In his last interview with Rivals.com Richie Petitbon made waves by announcing that he was slowing his recruitment down but did have a clear leader. Alabama still leads for the Rivals100 offensive tackle from Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga but there are a few other schools Petitbon is in touch with.

"I've been constant contact with coach Saban, coach Thompson and coach Cristobal," said the 6-foot-4, 296-pound Petitbon. "They've been talking to me at least once or twice a week to try to get me down there for a visit. Alabama is still definitely my number one school. I'm very excited about Alabama.

"Maryland, LSU and Penn State are great schools that I've been in contact with since the very beginning," he said. "There are a lot of schools out there that I haven't visited yet. I speak to coach Edsall a lot too. Maryland and Penn State are very close by so I could drive up for a practice one day. I spoke to coach Jeff Grimes from LSU last week. It was my first time speaking to him since he left Virginia Tech. They just sent me a bunch of letters too."

Some other schools are working to get in the mix with Petitbon.

"I'd say right now Ohio State is another school that has been talking to me a lot," said Petitbon. "Florida and Tennessee are also reaching out."

As for future plans, Petitbon is still taking things slowly.
"I'm playing lacrosse and staying in the weight room," he said. "I'm making some calls, messaging on Facebook and getting lots of mail. I don't have any visit planned yet but I'm pumped for the Rivals Camp Series.
Petitbon has close to 30 scholarship offers.
