Tiassum lands Louisville offer

Louisville has been involved in Indianapolis (Ind.) Park Tudor defensive tackle Brandon Tiassum's recruitment since early in the process, but just offered on Wednesday.
"Coach [Chris] Klenakis was at my school [Tuesday] and saw me work out, then today they offered," Tiassum said.

Prior to the offer Tiassum had a weekly phone call with Klenakis and has a good feel for the Louisville program.
"It is close enough that my family can see me and also it's developed a winning tradition over the past 5-10 years," Tiassum said. "Any time a program like this gives you a chance to come play for them you have to really look into it."
Klenakis is the offensive line coach for Louisville, and the Cardinals could project the 6-foot-4, 296-pound Tiassum to that side of the football.
"They don't know if they want me for offense or defense line yet," Tiassum said. "I guess it will be for wherever I can help their team out."
With Louisville being involved in his recruitment early and the Cardinals less than a two-hour drive down I-65, Tiassum has already made several visits to their campus.
"I went to a game this fall and also went to a scrimmage this spring," Tiassum said. "It's one of the big things in downtown Louisville and they are the big team in the city."
Louisville is the third offer in the last ten days for Tiassum. He feels Northern Illinois could be close to joining that list and continues to keep in close contact with Notre Dame.
"I had my one phone call with Coach [Mike] Elston yesterday and he wants me to go to the Irish Invasion this summer," Tiassum said. "He said if I do well there I could possibly get an offer."
Tiassum is coming off a defensive line MVP performance at the Columbus Rivals Camp two weekends ago, and now holds seven scholarship offers.
