Throckmorton adds three major offers

Calvin Throckmorton had an incredible week where he landed three major offers and a couple came as a complete surprise to the Bellevue (Wash.) Newport offensive tackle.
Michigan, Miami and Utah offered the 6-foot-6, 262-pound three-star prospect last week and he said it's time to do more research on all those programs but he maintains his decision timetable for this summer before his senior season starts.
"Michigan's offensive line coach followed me on Twitter about three weeks ago and we started talking a little more," Throckmorton said. "I eventually called him on the phone and he was telling me they were pretty interested.
"We really just kept talking and he said they were really high on me and they're going to have somebody come out to the school. Their tight ends coach came out and basically just said he wanted to see me in person and they wanted to offer me a full scholarship. That was pretty cool."
The Bellevue Newport standout had limited communication with the Miami and Utah coaches but both decided to offer as well.
"Miami actually hadn't been talking to me at all and then one of their coaches came to the school and visited me," Throckmorton said. "I called them the next week, last Monday, and they offered me over the phone. Utah was the same day as Michigan. It was the first time I ever talked to them and they offered me a scholarship, too. It's been a crazy week."
Those three programs join Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Washington and Washington State on the offer list for Throckmorton, who said he's considering trips this summer to check out the new teams that have gotten involved.
"I'm going to restart my research and look at these schools a lot closer," Throckmorton said. "I still think I'm going to aim for late August before the season starts as my decision timeline. I'm going to be learning as much as I can about the schools and if I have the time I'm going to visit them over the summer hopefully and go from there.
"I really don't have a favorite at this point. I'm still trying to look at everything objectively and really open-minded. I'm doing my research on every school and learning about each school to see which ones I want to focus on."
New interest is also coming in for Throckmorton, who said USC and UCLA have reached out and are trying to get him down for summer camp.
