Three-teams standout for DB

It’s a three-team race for the signature of Galena Park, Texas, defensive back Lamon Means. Means has already visited Purdue and now has dates set with Syracuse and Oklahoma State.
Means, who is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound safety with 4.5-second 40-yard dash speed, visited Purdue on the weekend of Oct. 26 and is scheduled to see Syracuse on Nov. 30 and Oklahoma State on Dec. 7.

“I really liked the Purdue visit,” Means said. “I could see myself going to school there. The school was just my kind of place and the coaches were great.”
But even though the Boilermakers’ coaching staff offered Means a scholarship, Means says he will still take other visits and that he does not have a current favorite among his choices. The Orangemen and Cowboys have also offered Means a scholarship.
“I like the coaches at Syracuse and Oklahoma State, too. And with Syracuse it’s just a school with a lot of football tradition.”
