Three-star sees offers rise to seven

Three-star two-way standout Ryan McCants (6-2, 225, 4.6) from Corona (Calif.) Santiago has seen his offers rise to seven over the course of the spring.
McCants, who plays running back and defensive end, has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska, Colorado, Colorado State, Nevada and Ole Miss.

The hard working McCants worked on improving his football skills at both the UCLA and USC football camps in June. At this point there are no other camps planned.
McCants earned all-CIF, first-team all-league and was his team's MVP after rushing for 1,439 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also shipped in three receptions for 73 yards.
While playing defensive end, McCants racked up 50 tackles and three sacks. Some are impressed enough with McCants as a defensive player that he is getting looks as a linebacker.
"Running back would be my first choice," McCants said. "But overall I'm just looking for an opportunity."
"I don't have any visits set at this time, but I will probably take all five before I make my decision," McCants said. "If one of the schools that I visit is the perfect fit than I could commit while I'm on the trip."
What is McCants looking for in a college?
"Academics are first and foremost," McCants said. "Then I will look at the coaching staff and what side of the ball they want to play me on.
"I will also look into the depth chart," McCants said. "It would be nice to get early playing time."
"I should be sitting down and decide what schools I will be visiting," McCants said. "I will probably do this within two to three weeks."
The scouting report on McCants is he's a big back who runs with power and is very quick for a back his size. He can make people miss. He's also very versatile and athletic. He has a lot of upside and the work ethic to get the job done.
