Three-star safety schedules first official

Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers safety Jovan Miller has been holding onto an offer from Syracuse for over six months. With just a month to go before Signing Day, is the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder any closer to making a pledge?
"I'm going to go on an official visit hopefully in the next two weeks to Connecticut, I believe it's on January 26th," he said. "Hopefully I can make a decision soon after that. I waited too long to take other visits since they have conflicts with my schedule."

What made the three-star prospect select a trip to Connecticut?
"I've been interested in them the whole time and I sent a highlight tape out there and they started showing interest in me," he said. "They haven't offered, but they have told me they likely will after I send out my senior tape which is on the way to them now."
Meanwhile, Syracuse appears to still be in play.
"I'm supposed to be going on an official there too," he said. "I think it'll be sometime after the Connecticut trip. I'm waiting trying to figure out a date for them."
At the moment, Miller appears to be down to Syracuse and Connecticut. The No. 8 prospect in the Empire State has an idea what he'll be looking for on his upcoming visits.
"Honestly, I want to go to both schools to see what college life is like," he said. "I want to get a positive attitude from the coaches and I want a belief that we'll win games if I go there."
