Three-star safety picks Memphis

Memphis has added the ninth public commitment to its 2010 recruiting class, this one from a talent rich program in a talent rich region. Gaither Madison a three-star safety out of Mobile (Ala.) Williamson made his decision on Sunday and decided to end the recruiting process.
"I decided today," Madison said on Sunday. "I had been thinking about it but I decided to commit today. They said that I've got a great opportunity to come in and start for four years for them and their DBs always go to the league so that gives me a great opportunity."
Though Memphis was his only offer to date, Madison was hearing from schools such as Louisville, Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech and Alabama State.

"I was thinking I might as well go ahead and do it now," he said of the commitment. "We've got two more games left. I'm ready to go ahead and commit because I'm visiting them in January."
The official visit scheduled for January is the only visit that Madison has scheduled and he expects that schedule to stay that way.
"I'm thinking about taking the Memphis trip and then just be done with it," he said of the recruiting process.
Madison will be happy to dedicate all of his focus on the rest of his senior season. Taking a 4-4 record into Friday's contest with defending Alabama State Champion Blount High School, he knows that he has precious few opportunities remaining this year.
"My season's been gong good," he said. "We just haven't had much offense but our defense has been playing good. I'm focused on this game Friday. It's against Blount and it's win or go home."
