Three-star returns from UTEP

Three-star linebacker Brandon Thigpen (6-4, 200, 4.6) from Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde took his first official visit to UTEP this past weekend.
"My visit to UTEP went great," Thigpen said. "The coaches, the players and the fans showed me a lot of love."

"I was talking to some of the players and they told me the coaches at UTEP care about them a lot," Thigpen said. "You can talk to them whenever you want to whether it is about football or life. Every week your position coach has dinner at his house for his players."
"UTEP offered me a full scholarship in writing on Sunday," Thigpen said. "I didn't commit."
"I feel UTEP is a good program, but I want to take other trips," Thigpen said. "I need to make sure that UTEP is the right program for me."
Besides UTEP, Thigpen has full scholarship offers from; Colorado State, Idaho State and Nebraska. He is getting phone calls from Cal, Washington, Washington State and Nevada about taking a visit.
So far in 2006, Thigpen has accounted for 53 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one sack and one interception.
On the offensive side of the ball, Thigpen has 12 receptions for over 200 yards.
Rancho Verde currently stands at 4-1 and will take on Moreno Valley (Calif.) Canyon Springs this Friday Evening.
Thigpen is a member of the Rivals.com California top 100 for the class of 2007 landing as the Golden State's No 90 prospect at any position.
