Three-star defensive end Cameron Jordan (6-4, 255, 4.68) from Chandler, Ariz., has taken two official visits. The first one was to Oregon State and he just returned from his second one to Arizona.
"My visit to Arizona was pretty good, actually," Jordan said. "I got to talk to a couple of coaches and got to get to know them.
"I had the privilege of talking with Coach Mike Stoops privately in his office and he told me how I fit in his program," Jordan said. "They have some players graduating and has a couple of juniors that will play while I redshirt then there is a good chance that I would play as a redshirt freshman."
"I look at redshirting as a good thing," Jordan said. "It gives you a chance to get bigger, faster and stronger.
"I thought the U of A was a small campus but it was bigger than I thought it was."
"I went to Oregon State the weekend before my Arizona visit," Jordan said. "I really loved the Oregon State coaching staff, but I'm not sure how I liked the small campus.
"It was definitely green though, which is a lot different than here."
"I have Cal set up this weekend and maybe Colorado the week after that," Jordan said. "I don't much about Colorado, but I was at Cal for a three day hitting camp where I earned my scholarship offer from them."
"I will probably make my decision in January after I take my trips," Jordan said. "I will probably take a week or two off and compare my visits.
"At this point in time I have no other visits planned," Jordan said. "I may revisit ASU once they get a new coach, but I would prefer to go away for school."
Jordan and his Chandler teammates lost in the semifinal game last Friday 22-7 to Mesa (Ariz.) Mountain View. It was 7-7 going into the fourth quarter when Mountain View pulled away. Chandler wasn't able to cash in their turnovers.
For the season, Jordan racked up 85 tackles and 17.5 sacks.
Jordan was selected to the Rivals.com Arizona top 20 team for the class of 2007 and landed as the Grand Canyon State's No. 8 prospect at any position. (8)
