Three-star receiver stops by Rutgers

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic receiver Tyrone Washington stopped by Rutgers for another visit over the weekend and the 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver had another memorable experience.
While some recruits are trying their hardest not to tip their hand, Washington is up front and public with where he stands on everything.

"They're my number one," Washington said of Rutgers. "I had been there before and the practice this weekend was just really good. It was a really good day.
"The practice was nice and fast-paced and everybody was moving. I got to look at some of their facilities and met more of the coaches. They're at the top."
Washington has listed Rutgers high on his list for several months now. In January he mentioned that Rutgers and Miami were his favorites, and while the Hurricanes may have slipped a bit the Scarlet Knights are still in good standing.
One reason for Washington's interest in Rutgers is the opportunity to stay close to home. That is something he has said appeals to him.
Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia, Maryland, UConn and UMass are among the other schools recruiting Washington. He also took a visit to UConn last week, but he does not anticipate making an early decision and said he would like to take his official visits.
Rutgers and UMass are the two schools that have offered.
Some schools are recruiting Washington to play in the secondary while others envision him as a receiver.
