Three-star receiver schedules trip up north

Minnesota is off to an impressive 4-0 start to its 2008 football season and it may be paying dividends on the recruiting trail as well. Oakland Park (Fla.) Northeast three-star wide receiver Xavier Reese is one of the top wideouts in south Florida and the Gophers look as though they will be fortunate enough to receive an official visit from the standout.
So far this year, Reese has been one of the top receivers in the ultra-talented Broward County.

"Actually I'm number one right now in Broward County in receiving yards," Reese said. "I've got 240 yards right now with only 9 catches and one touchdown. We're 3-0 right now."
Also on the Northeast squad are two other players that Minnesota is recruiting, twins Isaac Geffard and Jacob Geffard. The two defensive back prospects will be joining Reese when they head up to Minnesota.
"Me and the twins are heading up to Minnesota next week so I'm excited about that," said Reese. "We're leaving after the game next week after the Ely game. They play Oct. 4 against Indiana I think."
Though he is not favoring any one school right now, Reese is clearly very interested in what the Gophers offer.
"I really like the offense," he said. "The spread offense, plus the depth chart, plus I want to major in the business program. They've got a new stadium too so everything is on the up with Minnesota."
Reese knows that he would like to visit Purdue officially and expects to have that visit scheduled for some time in October or November.
