Three-star RB Raveion Hargrove back on the market

Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) three-star all-purpose back Raveion Hargrove re-opened his recruitment on Wednesday after a three-plus month commitment to Bowling Green. The diminutive back is one of the most explosive offensive weapons in the state of Ohio’s 2018 class, and now will take time to re-evaluate his options.

THE LATEST

Hargrove said nothing has changed with how he feels about Bowling Green and nothing has changed with regards to new offers or new interest since he made his commitment on the Fourth of July. He did make a game visit to Louisville and camped with the Cardinals over the summer, but the interest from Bobby Petrino’s staff has stagnated from there. Toledo is the one school he knows for sure will receive an official visit, while Bowling Green remains a strong contender to land his signature.

IN HIS WORDS

“I am just exploring the options and making sure it’s the right fit for me. Bowling Green still fits me and they are still in my top (group).”

RIVALS’ REACTION

Unless a Power Five school makes a late play here, it is likely Hargrove ends up committing to another MAC program. If that is not Bowling Green, it would seem Toledo would be the next most likely candidate. We rate Hargrove as a Power Five caliber prospect, but his size has obviously kept teams at that level from making a move. He’s having another tremendous season as a senior, carrying 96 times for 1,326 yards (13.8 yards per carry) and 19 touchdowns. The Darren Sproles comparison may be low-hanging fruit, but it is also fairly accurate. What he lacks in height, the southwest Ohio back makes up for in quickness, agility, creativity and ball skills. Coaches always find a spot for players like that on the field.
