Three-star RB gets offers, visit dates

Claremont, Calif., three-star all-purpose running back Jamaal Floyd has had a hard time deciding whether or not he’s excited about how things are going the past few months.
On the field, Floyd has suffered a severe ankle sprain that has kept him out of action and will for some time. But off the field he’s added four new offers from Pac 10 and Big 12 teams and he’s got two official visits lined up.

“Yeah, I’m excited about what’s going on with recruiting,” Floyd, who is 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, said. “But things on the field have been going pretty bad. We’re 1-3 and I’m injured. I sprained by left angle. I was running the ball and some dude tackled me on my angle and I landed on it and it popped.”
Floyd is undergoing therapy and isn’t sure when he’s going to get back on the field. But the good thing for him is that the injury happened during the third game of the season, so he’s had chances to showcase his talent to the college coaches.
And the coaches like what they’re seeing.
After already having scholarships from Colorado, UConn, Kansas and Wake Forest, some other big-boys have come calling in September and October.
“I’m getting calls from Colorado State, Colorado, Kansas State, UCLA, Washington and Wyoming,” Floyd said. “I just got new offers from Kansas State, Washington and UCLA. All of them are pretty recent, actually they all came here in the last few weeks.”
Floyd said he likes Colorado the best right now.
“I just hear that it’s a great running back school and they have a good football program,” he said.
Floyd, however, has yet to line up an official visit with CU. He’s got dates with Colorado State set for December 5 and Kansas State set for December 12.
Floyd is ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 18 all-purpose running back in the nation.
