"Garrett is a smart kid and he put everything together and picked USC," Rooney said. "He talked to his cousin (Brandon Hance) and told all about his experience at USC."
"Garrett eliminated Harvard a couple of days ago," Rooney said. "He wanted an opportunity to play big time college football. It is his competitive nature. The Trojans recruited him as a quarterback."
The Trojans get a player who knows how to win. As a three-year starter for Notre Dame, he was 36-2 as a starter. He led his team to two CIF Championships and was runner-up this year as a senior.
Though he missed a few games on offense this year due to an injury, Green still passed for 1,527 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also makes plays with his feet, rushing for 945 yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
In an earlier interview with Rivals.com, Notre Dame Coach Kevin Rooney he said the following about his talented quarterback.
"Garrett is a very gifted athlete and very competitive," said. "He has a strong arm and is a great runner. "You teach him something once and he understands it and applies what he has learned "
"Like all the great ones, Garrett has a great work ethic," Rooney said. "He works hard at everything he does."
Green is a tremendous athlete. He also participates in track and went to the CIF meet as a hurdler. Green was a member of Notre Dame's 4x100 team that was fifth-best in the state as a junior.
