Three-star QB pulls the trigger

Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial three-star quarterback Donovan Porterie was leaning toward New Mexico late last week, and it now looks like the 6-foot-2, 188-pound has made up his mind.
"I committed to New Mexico," Porterie, who is 6-foot-2 and 188 pounds, said. "I just felt like it was the best fit for me. The coaches are excited about my opportunity to come in there and play early. I liked that opportunity, it was too good to pass up."
Porterie picked New Mexico over Syracuse, Louisiana Tech, Texas State and Tulsa. He visited UNM and Tulsa.
