Three-star QB Petty commits

Three-star quarterback Bryce Petty picked up a late offer from Virginia Tech yesterday. The Midlothian, Texas prospect turned around and gave his pledge to Baylor this evening.
"I committed right after dinner tonight at 7:30 or eight," he said. "I called the coaches and they were excited for sure. They are looking forward to it."

How did Petty come to the decision?
"After talking with my family and my head coach, there were too many positives to leave them on the table," he said. "Baylor is close to home, only an hour and 15 or 20 minutes away, they have a good coaching staff and the facilities are good. Plus, the program is on the rise.
"They don't have as much tradition as some other schools, but they have potential for sure and have a really good recruiting class this year."
Petty will greyshirt and enroll at Baylor in January 2010.
"I can possibly play by my redshirt sophomore year."
