Three-star QB heads to the MAC

Raleigh (N.C.) Southeast Raleigh quarterback Gabriel Henderson made a decision a few days back. The 6-foot-0, 182-pounder decided to head to the MAC.
"I committed to Kent State last Wednesday," he said. "The coaches said the decision made their day and it would be an easy adjustment for me. He said it was the best thing to happen to him in awhile.

"He added that they wouldn't be signing anymore quarterbacks."
A few factors played into the three-star prospect's choice.
"They have my major and it's one of the top majors at the school. I can get a good education," he said. "I also know I'm going to be able to play a lot and then the whole conference is on the rise.
"I also like that the coaches there were more personal and the offense really fits my style of play. They run almost the same exact plays, so I won't miss a step."
As mentioned, Henderson sees a chance to play pretty early at Kent State.
"That's what the coaches have said," he said. "They see me coming in and redshirting and then if I'm ready I can play my redshirt freshman year."
Recruiting has heated up for Henderson since his decision.
"NC State and Georgia Tech have been pursuing more, but I'm going to still honor my commitment."
Henderson picked Kent State over offers from Buffalo, Elon, Liberty, NC A&T, NC Central and Western Carolilna.
