Three-star Peat picks Bruins

Cassius Peat chose the Pac 12. In that way, he followed his brother's footsteps. But Peat's commitment to UCLA on Monday night was a break from the short family tradition. He'll play in the same state as his Stanford-clad sibling Andrus, but Cassius Peat is perfectly happy in his first day as a Bruin-to-be.
Peat, a three-star linebacker at Tempe (Ariz.) Corona del Sol High School, committed to UCLA on Monday morning but did not announce his decision to the public until Monday night, when he sent out a tweet that read "excited to say that I'm verbally committed to UCLA."

A graphic depicting Peat in a UCLA jersey accompanied the tweet, and with that things were as official as they can be pre Signing Day. As it turns out, it was his recent official visit to Westwood that put the commitment wheels in motion. Peat liked the Bruins for some time, but his most recent trip to Westwood set him over the edge.
"I just felt comfortable and so did my family there and felt everything there fit me to be able to develop as a football player and get a great education too," Peat said via Twitter direct message.
Peat has not indicated whether or not he intends to take advantage of his fifth and final official visit.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Peat picked UCLA over 11 other scholarship offers. He took official visits to Texas A&M, UCLA, Oklahoma and Michigan State before settling on the Bruins. He was not immediately available for extended comment following his commitment announcement
