After much deliberation, Toleafoa Auwae is bound for the Golden State.

Auwae, the No. 1-rated center in the West region, announced his commitment to UCLA on Friday, picking the Bruins over finalists Louisville, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Utah and Vanderbilt. The three-star prospect from Kapolei, Hawaii still intends to take some official visits this season but noted he's thrilled to join UCLA's recruiting class.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The 6-foot-3, 296-pound lineman intends to visit Louisville the weekend of Sept. 17 when the Cardinals host Clemson. He also plans to set trips with the Beavers, Commodores and Red Raiders in addition to UCLA.
IN HIS WORDS: "UCLA is just one of my dream schools," Auwae told Rivals.com. "My family loves UCLA and coach (Adrian) Klemm. He's made a strong relationship with not only me, but my mom as well. No coach has really done that.
"Coach Klemm has told me I'll play anywhere he needs me. He said I'm versatile and doesn't have a specific place where he wants me to play. The whole staff is great. They seem like they work hard and play hard at the same time. My boyFred Ul-Perry is loving it up there and I did too [when I visited]."
RIVALS' REACTION: The looming visits should not be a major concern for Klemm or the Bruins as Auwae has indicated he would like to fully experience the process given his distance from the mainland. Auwae, the No. 3-rated prospect in the state of Hawaii, is a nice consolation for Klemm after four-star offensive guard Michael Eletise dropped UCLA from consideration while the position coach served a months-long suspension. Auwae, one of the top performers at the Rivals Camp Series stop in Los Angeles this past spring, became the first offensive lineman to join the Bruins' 2016 class and his versatility to play both center and guard should be a plus for Klemm, who looks to make up some ground on a few other fronts.
