Three-Star OL Choose Rutgers

The waiting is over for one of the top players in the state of New Jersey and one of the top offensive lineman in the northeast. Offensive lineman Pedro Sosa from Union City (N.J.) Union Hill is now a Scarlet Knight. The 6-foot-5, 275-pound left tackle decided that Rutgers was the place for him.
“I really loved the family atmosphere and the coaching staff is great. I feel very relieved and very happy about my decision."

Pedro chose Rutgers over offers from such major programs as Purdue, Wisconsin, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia and Pittsburgh. He had 18 offers in all. His extremely quick feet and great athleticism attracted many college recruiters. The word was out that Pedro had great camp at Rutgers and showed his excellent pass blocking skills with a frame that can carry 315 plus pounds.
"Rutgers showed me that they wanted me from the beginning they were the first to offer me. I also feel that I have a chance to play early there and I believe in what coach Schiano is doing at Rutgers."
Pedro also likes the fact that Rutgers is close to home and his family will be able to come and watch him play. Offensive line coach Joe Susan made an impact on Pedro during summer camp.
"Having my family able to go the games will be great as well. I was really impressed with coach Susan at the summer camp, I believe someone like that can help me get to the next level."
Pedro was recruited by recruiting coordinator Mark D'Onofrio. He has already qualified.
