Three-star Merritt lands fourth offer

Three-star athlete Jamal Merritt out of Sandy Spring (Md.) Sherwood added a new offer in recent weeks. The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder pulled his latest offer from out West.
"I got another offer about three or four weeks ago from New Mexico," he said. "I'm not too sure about them yet. My dad played basketball there, but I don't know too much about New Mexico other than what I've seen on TV."

New Mexico is Merritt's fourth offer joining East Carolina, Ohio and Rutgers.
Is anyone else interested?
"I've been talking to a few other schools, Cincinnati, West Virginia and Pittsburgh," he said. "I'm not too sure how they feel, but I should find out in the next few weeks when their seasons are over."
In terms of visits, Merritt is working on them.
"I haven't gone anywhere yet, but my dad and I are going to sit down soon and see which ones I'll get out to," he said. "I don't like anyone right now. I like the schools all the same and I'll evaluate them more when I take these visits."
On the season, the No. 15 prospect in Maryland helped his team to a 10-2 record.
"We just lost on Friday," he said. "I did well. I missed a couple games and you could tell with the way I played early in the season, but I think I knew more this year about what I was doing than last."
