Three-star enjoys Stanford

Three-star tight end Austin Holt (6-6, 227, 4.8) from South Jordan (Utah) Bingham is one of the western region's best tight end prospects. Though he has been a longtime BYU pledge, he recently took a visit to Stanford.
"Stanford was really cool," Holt said. "The coaches did a really good job, though Stanford lost to Notre Dame, it was a good time for me and my family.

Holt also showed interest in UCLA and even visited the campus over the summer, but are the Bruins still in the hunt?
"I was thinking about taking a visit to UCLA, but with the coaching change I'm not so sure," Holt said. "We will have to see what happens with the new coaching staff.
"I've kind of stopped looking at UCLA because I don't know their coaches will do," Holt said. "My dad said that he called them this morning (Monday December 3rd), and once the coaching situation plays itself out, they may come and visit with me.
"I will probably take my one scheduled visit to BYU the week after I play in the US Army All-American Bowl," Holt said. "Then make my decision final probably between BYU and Stanford.
"I will have home visit with BYU this week and Stanford was by the school," Holt said. "I may have an in home with Stanford next week.
Holt was one of the main reasons that Bingham high school made it to the State semi-final game after hauling in 29 receptions for 498 yards and six touchdowns.
Honors for his senior season haven't come out yet, but he is a good bet to be a repeat selection on the all-state tea.
