Three-star DE plans another Cal trip

Trevor Howard is not guaranteeing a commitment but he plans to take his third unofficial visit to Cal soon and the Golden Bears are definitely in great shape in his recruitment.
The three-star defensive end from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian does not have a date yet but he plans to visit soon and Cal has made it clear it wants him in its class.

"I'm actually going to go up to Cal sometime during my dead period," Howard said. "I'm going to go up there again and get a feel for everything again and just see what happens. Hopefully, it's good.
"You can't beat Cal coming out of California with the whole alumni and everything. They told me that and they've made several points about the education coming out of Cal, the alumni coming out of Cal so it's just a very solid choice for college. They made that perfectly clear."
Howard, who looked good at the Rivals Camp Series Southern California and many other events this off-season, said there is a chance he could commit to the Golden Bears but doesn't want to say it's absolutely going to happen.
Cal looks good but the Oaks Christian standout wants to be certain before saying anything specific.
"It's a possibility," Howard said. "I'm not ruling anything out but I'm not making commitments, either."
So far, the 6-foot-3, 218-pound prospect has been offered by Cal and Idaho. The three-star said he's hearing from plenty of Pac-12 programs but gets the feeling that many of those schools will wait to offer until his senior season starts.
Will it be too late by then?
"At this point all the other schools are going to wait until the season and then I'll see what happens," Howard said.
