Draco Bynum landed his first offer from UCLA a while back and then his recruitment went quiet with no new offers for a few weeks.

That changed in a big way Monday as coaching staffs turned to the 2018 class and really focused in on the three-star defensive end from Wilsonville, Ore.

USC offered first and Bynum was definitely thrilled to receive that news.

“I have a lot of respect for USC,” Bynum said. “It is an excellent program and they are certainly on their way to something huge. Beating the eventual Pac-12 champions and winning the Rose Bowl in such an epic way was what really told me these guys are for real.

“I have spoken with a few of their staff and they all seem like great people and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better over this next year. I definitely want to take a visit to the campus and maybe sit in on a practice just so I can learn a little more about the school and the team. I'm still a junior and have a lot more learning to do.”

Bynum’s day was not finished there. Later in the evening, the 6-foot-5, 250-pound standout landed an offer from Oregon.

He has not been to Eugene recently and hasn’t met the new staff yet but he’s definitely excited about the offer from the Ducks.

“I haven't been down to Eugene in a while but last time I was there I was very impressed with the facilities and the staff,” Bynum said.

“Granted that was before coach (Willie) Taggart took over. I am looking forward to building a relationship with the new staff and checking out the facilities again. I need to look into the school a little more as well. I don't know much about it right now. I still have some more research to do.”

The 2018 three-star said Notre Dame, Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, Colorado and Boise State are also showing new interest.
