Rochester (N.Y.) Bishop Kearney defensive end Jerome Lewis has several offers and doesn't plan on waiting a long time to see who else will get involved.
Lewis is now saying that he will probably be ready to announce his college destination on Monday.
"There have been five or six coaches that have come up already," Lewis said. "I actually might end up going ahead and committing on Monday. I'm somewhat sure. I'd say I'm about 75 or 80-percent sure I'm going to do it."
Don't expect any hints from Lewis between now and then.
"Right now I'm not going public with anything yet. I'll be going public on Monday. That's this coming Monday. It would take something major for me to change my mind. Somebody else would have to offer. I like all the schools that have offered, but it would have to take a really major school coming along and offering to throw things off course."
Lewis said he will announce his choice to members of the local media at Bishop Kearney's ring ceremony for the basketball team.
While Lewis declined to say what schools he will choose from, in late April he said Pittsburgh was at the top of his list.
He holds offers from Minnesota, Purdue, Syracuse and East Carolina, in addition to Pittsburgh. Lewis is a three-star prospect and ranked the No. 35 strongside defensive end in the nation by Rivals.com.
