Back in May, Flower Mound, Texas cornerback Collin Ashley picked up his first scholarship offer from Wake Forest University. Since then, he has been waiting on a second offer to come. However, he has kept a busy schedule and has been putting together an impressive summer.
"I attended the Oklahoma State and Texas A&M summer camps," Ashley said. "They went pretty good. I had three or four interceptions and a couple touchdowns at Oklahoma State. I had six or seven interceptions down at A&M."
Ashley, who is currently in the thick of preseason practice, has maintained a steady communication with the Demon Deacons since that first offer came in and he has discussed the possibility of an official visit during the year.

"I am still in contact with Coach Billings at Wake Forest," he said. "I plan on taking a visit there sometime for a game but don't know when and what game I will go to."
As an Arkansas native, Ashley has expressed some interest in the Razorbacks but he is yet to receive the reciprocal interest he is hoping for.
"I am still interested in Arkansas but we'll just have to see how much interest they have in me," he said.
In 2008, Flower Mound will be taking on a typically tough Texas schedule and it all begins with a scrimmage on Aug. 23 against Colleyville.
"Our first scrimmage is next Saturday against Colleyville and we open our season with Plano East," he said. "I don't know a whole lot about them but I know they have a really good running back."
Ashley is rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect and one of the top 60 cornerbacks in the nation.
