Three-star backs off Pac-12 pledge

Derek Babiash got his offer from Washington, was wowed by the program during his junior day visit and shortly thereafter decided to make his commitment to the Huskies.
A few weeks later, the Poway, Calif., three-star cornerback is not so sure of his pledge and has decided to reopen his recruitment.

"I just wasn't 100 percent sure with my decision," Babiash said.
Recruiting has picked up dramatically since the end of his junior season and Babiash, rated as the No. 34 cornerback in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, wants to step back and evaluate all his options.
Since he committed to the Huskies, many other high-profile programs have offered and the 6-foot, 173-pound prospect said he wants to look everything over before making his final decision.
So far, Babiash lists offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Boston College, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
Many others are also showing interest.
The next step for Babiash is to research all the programs he's interested in and then work on scheduling visits so he can make a well-informed decision. Washington is still in consideration but others are again in the mix as well.
"I still want to get a good look at every other school I'm interested in and visit those schools so I can make a strong decision," Babiash said.
