Three standout for Strickland

Brandon (Miss.) three-star defensive end Kyle Strickland described his summer as "great". He attended camps at Mississippi State and Memphis before closing out the summer with a stop in Hattiesburg for the Southern Miss camp.
The trip to the Golden Eagles camp was a successful stop and he was mentioned among the top defensive linemen at the camp.

"It was real nice," Strickland said. "They just put the new turf down so it was looking real good. They have a nice locker room and I really enjoyed myself."
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound defender entered the summer holding offers from Louisiana-Lafayette and ULM. Strickland continues to receive significant interest from both Memphis and Mississippi State, and he is supposed to call Florida later in the week.
As the 2013 season nears for the Brandon standout, he is not worried about making any preseason decisions, but he does have three currently at the top of his list.
"My top three are Florida, State, and Lafayette," Strickland said. "Florida is in the SEC and one of the top dogs. A great atmosphere, game feel, and great fanbase. State just built a new football facility. I've been a couple of times and really like that. Lafayette, I haven't visited yet, but I'm sure once I do I'll love it."
Strickland does not have any unofficial visits or official visits scheduled at this time but there are a few programs who have invited him to town.
"Lafayette and La Tech said they want me to visit," Strickland said. "And LSU said they wanted me to visit the campus during the season to come watch a game and see how the atmosphere is."
