Three standout for McGee

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern three-star defensive back Khalid McGee has picked up offers from across the country with the likes of Miami, Utah, West Virginia, Louisville, Wisconsin and Florida State extending scholarship his way.
As the month of July begins, McGee has a few schools standing out among the rest.

"I have Louisville, Wisconsin, and West Virginia," McGee said. "Those are the schools which standout the most to me."
There are several reasons the three schools have established themselves at the top of his list.
"Louisville, they have a lot of tradition with Miami Northwestern guys such as Teddy Bridgewater, Eli Rogers, Michaelee Harris," McGee said. "All of those guys came from Miami Northwestern, so that's why they stand out.
"West Virginia, my recruiter is Damon Cogdell. He's from the South Florida area. He was the coach at Miramar High School so he knows me very well. That's a big factor in why I like West Virginia.
"Wisconsin, coach Chris Beatty, he's a good guy. He's like a father figure. He hits me up every day or every other day. He asks me not about recruiting, but about life period. So that's a big stand out."
He is not ready to name a leader among his top three, but he does plan to make a decision in the near future.
"At the end of the summer," McGee said.
Before announcing his commitment he does have a few visits he would like to make this summer.
"I'm trying to get up to the University of Georgia and the University of Florida and I'm trying to get up to the University of Wisconsin to see how it is up there," McGee said. "That's about it."
After he makes his announcement, he does plan to take all of his officials, and he already has an idea about a couple of schools he plans to visit.
"I'm looking at West Virginia for an official visit and Rutgers," McGee said. "Those are the only two I know I'm going to take for sure."
