Three stand out to Riley

DAVIE, Fla. -- C.J. Riley has size. Lots of it. The Coconut Creek (Fla.) North Broward High School wide receiver is every bit of 6-foot-5, and you can't teach that. He also has nine scholarship offers. The two facts are correlated, of course.
But despite all the size and all the offers, Riley is stepping softly down the recruiting trail. He's not into making many bold proclamations. He declines to name a single frontrunner, but he doesn't mind tossing out a small group if favorites.

"It's Pittsburgh, UCF and West Virginia," Riley said on Saturday. "It's those three. Those three are all even."
Riley plans to visit all three this offseason with trips to West Virginia and Pitt already in the works. According to Riley he won't mind leaving the state of Florida for college whatsoever if he sees so fit, and the two northern schools certainly have an allure.
"West Virginia needs big receivers like me," he said. "I like that. With Pitt and UCF, I like how much they throw the ball. I want to play in an offense that throws. With Pitt, they are losing a big receiver next year, so I can go in there and probably play."
Early playing time and a pass-happy offense are the two most important things to Riley. He makes that fact clear. What he's less direct about is how he feels about the notion that a player of his size might be better suited to play tight end than wide receiver.
"Cincinnati and Pitt say they want to use me at both," Riley said. "I'd rather play wide receiver, but I'll do both for sure."
Riley intends to wit until sometime after the start of his senior season to make a verbal commitment.
