Three stand out to Mathis

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Miramar (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Devonte Mathis says he hasn't eliminated any schools, but that three are standing out for him at this time.
"I am still open right now but I could make my decision at anytime," Mathis said. "I would say the top three schools I am looking at right now are West Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida State. They are all about even."

This weekend, he is taking his first official visit when he travels to West Virginia.
"I am looking forward to a great trip," Mathis said. "I want to learn a lot about the school and see what it is like. I have some friends there and I am looking forward to learning more about their program."
Next up after that is plans to go see the Tar Heels on an official visit.
"I am talking to a coach at North Carolina about getting a visit set up there," Mathis said. "Nothing done yet but we are working on it. I know I want to visit there. They haven't offered me yet but I am hoping that offer comes at some point."
Mathis has previously visited Florida State for a camp over the summer. At this time, he has no visit plans to return to Tallahassee.
