Three stand out for Thomas

East St. Louis, Ill., wide receiver Jeff Thomas landed in the initial ranked Rivals100 presented by Under Armour that was released on Monday, and has three schools standing out early in his recruitment.
"I can say Alabama, Mizzou and Florida State," Thomas said.

Of those three schools, Missouri is the only one he has visited. Thomas has traveled to Columbia with his team several times, most recently in June.
"I went down to Mizzou with the team. I did a camp there like two weeks ago," Thomas said. "They are pretty cool to me. Coach (Cornell) Ford has good interest in me and wants me to come to Mizzou sometime again so he can watch me practice 7-on-7."
Although he has yet to see Alabama, a visit to Tuscaloosa could be in the works for later this summer.
"We're supposed to go down there sometime this year, but I don't know when. (Sometime) before summer ends," Thomas said. "I like their offense and they've been having good wide receivers."
Florida State assistant coach Tim Brewster has made several visits to East St. Louis High during open recruiting periods, but Thomas does not have any set plans to visit Tallahassee yet.
"We talked about getting out there, but I'm not sure when," Thomas said. "They have a good crowd and (their offense) likes to go deep."
Although Thomas has identified some early favorites, there is still a lot of recruiting to be done because he does not expect to decide before he has to.
"It will be a late decision, probably on National Signing Day," Thomas said.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Thomas ranked as the No. 63 player in the first Rivals100 for the 2017 class. He won the Wide Receiver MVP award at the St. Louis Rivals Camp in May.
