Three schools have Michael Robertson's attention

THE LATEST...

Michael Robertson is on the back-end of his freshman year and he is an athlete who has already picked up double-digit offers. The 6-foot, 175 pound prospect out of Hoganville (Ga.) Callaway holds offers from California, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee among others.

Robertson is only a freshman and he is a versatile athlete who could project on either side of the ball. He has strong hands, he is a physical player and he will get some work on and offense and defense his sophomore season.

His cousin, Demetris Robertson signed with California in 2016 and he made an instant impact in the Bears offense last fall. That caught the attention of the younger Robertson and California is one of three schools who stands out to him at this time.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

CALIFORNIA: "I can't wait to get out to Cal to see what it is like. Demetris is out there and he loves it. He tells me how it feels right for him and I just want to get out there myself to see it. They featured him as a freshman, so I like that about them and it is just a school I want to learn more about."

FLORIDA STATE: "I just visited Florida State recently and I really liked it. I do not have an offer from them yet, but I got a good vibe from the coaches when I was there, so I think one is coming. I liked the weather, I like the coaches there and they have a lot of great tradition."

GEORGIA: "It feels like home there. I am real familiar with them because I have been going up there since I was in the 7th grade. I like the coaching staff and I really like Kirby Smart. I am ready to see what coach Smart is going to do with the top recruits he has coming in."

ON FOLLOWING DEMETRIS: "It would be great to play with him and I will be out there to see him in the spring, but I will make my own decision. We are similar in some ways, but we have different personalities. California was right for him, but I am not just going to go there because he did. I have to find the right fit for me."

RIVALS REACTION: It is very early for Robertson in recruiting, so there will be new offers presented to him and numerous coaching changes before he signs his letter of intent. He has already gotten a first-hand look at the recruiting process seeing his cousin go through it, so he has a good handle on things, he has a great base behind him in family and he will continue to explore his options the next couple of years. He has a chance to be one of the top prospects in Georgia for the 2020 class.
