Three offers for Woodson

Eufaula, Alab. linebacker Xavier Woodson enjoyed a big junior season, which resulted in a handful of offers. Now the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder is busy trying to garner a few more on the camp circuit.
"I have offers from Arkansas State, UAB and Troy," he said. "I got those back in the fall."

One of these three is currently at the top for Woodson.
"Of those, Arkansas State is the one sticking out, but I'm not committing to any school," he said. "I'm looking at UAB a bit too. I like Arkansas State because they've got a good coaching staff. I like the coaching staff."
To date, Woodson hasn't visited Arkansas State, but plans to sometime this fall.
Meanwhile, Woodson is getting also looks from Toledo, Bowling Green, Syracuse, Western Michigan, Michigan State and Vanderbilt.
"I've been to camps at Ohio State and Michigan State," he said. "Ohio State didn't show much interest, but they thought I was fast. Michigan State wants my transcripts and want to see my highlight film."
Woodson noted plans to make it to Auburn for a camp on July 14th and possibly Troy before the summer is out.
As he evaluates his opportunities, the Alabama prospect touched on what he wants in a school.
"I want an education, that is most definitely the first thing," he said. "I'm a student first and I want to get that degree. I'm planning to go to college for information technology. I'm really looking for what school will help me most working towards my degree. As far as location, I kind of want to go north, but I'll do whatever is best for me."
Woodson posted 130 tackles, two interceptions and five total touchdowns as a junior last season.
He reflected on his ability at this stage.
"I'm smart," he said. "I've got a good football IQ and I just love to play. I love to work and there is always room for improvement. I'm always trying to work hard, to do the best I can."
