Three more visits set for Childs

Los Alamitos (Calif.) wide out Jeremy Childs leads his Griffin squad in to the CIF Div I semi-final game this Friday against a tough Lakewood squad. Following the game, Childs will take his second official visit of the year.
In kind of a odd call with Childs earlier, we asked him if he had any official visits set for the coming weeks.

“Well, I was supposed to visit UCLA this weekend but I haven’t heard from them in three weeks,” Childs said. “The last time we talked, they asked if I wanted to make an official visit the week of the USC game and I said that would be great. They said they would call me back to set it up but I haven’t heard from them since so I’m not sure what’s up.”
Just then, Childs had a call on the other line and said he would call back.
“That was funny timing, that was UCLA,” Childs said. “They said they have been trying to call me but just haven’t been able to reach me. Everything is a go now, I’m going to take an official visit to UCLA this weekend. I also have a visit set with Boise State (Dec. 17) and Oregon (Jan 7). I should be ready to make my decision sometime in mid January after I visit Oregon.”
Arizona State is also very much in the picture for Childs and was in the home Monday night.
“Coach Osborne came in,” Childs added. It was cool, he just talked a little more about how I would fit in there. We talked about the academics of the school, the different programs they provide there and things like that. Oregon will be coming in Wednesday night and that’s all I have set up right now as far as home visits.”
Childs is having a big season and earlier in the year, broke the all-time Orange County record for career receptions. On the year, he has caught 78 balls for 1,076 yards and 19 touchdowns.
