Three majors after Mixon

Joe Mixon recently narrowed down his list significantly but three major programs have steadily shown interest in him and an offer from any of them could alter his favorites.
"I'm hearing a lot more from Alabama and a lot more from Oregon and then I've been hearing from LSU, too," Mixon said.

The four-star running back from Oakley (Calif.) Freedom earned the offensive MVP award at the recent Los Angeles NIKE Camp and he also stood out this past weekend at the Passing Down tournament in Northern California.
The sense from Mixon, rated as the ninth-best running back and the No. 82 prospect in the 2014 class by Rivals.com, is that Oregon could be the closest to offering and it might come when the coaches visit his school later this month.
Alabama is also coming out to California to see Mixon and the four-star is not sure yet if LSU will be visiting his school but he's definitely excited where things are headed with all three powerhouses.
"Oregon said they're coming down on April 30 and Alabama is coming down next month and I'm not sure when LSU is coming down," Mixon said. "I think when Oregon comes down they're going to offer me. I don't know about Alabama and LSU just yet.
"(An Oregon offer) would be big. That would be a big one especially with that offense."
Recently, Mixon narrowed his list of around 40 offers to 16 favorites.
Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Washington and Wisconsin made the cut.
With the new interest from Oregon, Alabama and LSU, Mixon said he wants to take his time with the recruiting process and not rush a decision until he figures out where those three programs stand.
Since it's been so busy early in the process, Mixon said his main focus has not been recruiting and he wants to remain patient through the off-season.
"I'm just taking it slow," Mixon said. "I haven't been into recruiting much lately. I've just been trying to focus on school and everything."
