The top offensive guard in the nation is still considering eight schools, but only three are at the top of his list.
Marques Slocum, a 6-foot-4, 330-pound guard from Philadelphia (Pa.) West Catholic is a four-star prospect and rated the No. 1 guard in the entire nation. What schools is he looking at?
"Right now I like Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, LSU and Oklahoma," he said. "That's my top eight, and it has been for a while now. But if I had to choose three to put at the top of my list it would be Michigan, Michigan State and Miami. Talking to the coaches so far and thinking about how I'd fit in, those seem to be ahead of the others for now."
Has Slocum set up any official visits yet?
"I'm just about positive my coach and I are going to set up an official visit to Michigan State, but I'm not sure of the date yet," said Slocum. "Other than that, I'm not sure. I do want to take all five visits before making a decision."
As for when he'll make his decision -- don't expect anything any time soon.
"I'm not sure when I'll announce my decision. I'm pretty sure it will be a pretty long time before I decide. I'm enjoying the process and plan on riding it out."
